When the Tampa Bay Devils Rays first entered Major League Baseball in ’98 they were truly a dreadful team as for 10 straight seasons they finished dead-last in the American League East, save for one magical season when they managed to finish fourth. Of course, it’s tough when you are competing against the likes of the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, but the Rays made a remarkable turnaround in ’08 and made it all the way to the World Series thanks in part to brilliant manager Joe Maddon. Over the next five seasons, the Rays (who dropped the “Devil” from their name) have been back to the postseason three more times and finally there is a lot of demand for Tampa Bay Rays baseball tickets.
As it has been since the inaugural season of the team, the 2018 Tampa Bay Rays baseball schedule will be played at Tropicana Field. And while the stadium does get some criticism for its architecture and somewhat drab interior, the team has made significant improvements over the years with much better concessions and the 10,000 gallon Rays Touch Tank that includes real rays from around the area. If you have Tampa Bay Rays tickets, you can also check out the Ted Williams Museum and Hitters Hall of Fame. Of course, Williams never played for the Rays, but he lived in the area during the later years of his life and the museum includes some great memorabilia from his career.
